Everyone likes free stuff, and learning how to get free Walmart gift cards is one of the best ways to take the edge off spending.

An “everything” supermarket – Walmart is a one-stop shop for groceries, clothing, toys, and home essentials. In other words, these free gift cards can pay for just about all of your needs.

It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not! There are tons of ways to earn free gift cards; you just need to know where to look!

How to Get Free Walmart Gift Cards: Take Surveys

One of the most common ways to earn free gift cards is to take surveys. While all survey platforms differ slightly, the process is usually the same:

  • Sign up for the platform
  • Take surveys in your spare time
  • Earn points for every survey taken
  • Redeem those points for the gift card of your choice

1. Swagbucks

Primarily a survey site, Swagbucks gives users several options to earn points or “swag bucks” and exchange them for gift cards.

Earn points by:

  • Using the Swagbucks search engine
  • Playing online games
  • Watching short videos
  • Shopping through their affiliate links
  • Scanning receipts

Exchange your points for a digital gift card that can be used in Walmart stores or on the Walmart website.

2. InboxDollars

When you sign up for InboxDollars, you’ll receive an immediate sign-up bonus that goes toward your future Walmart gift cards!

Unlike some survey sites, InboxDollars pays out in cash or gift cards, not a points system. You can cash out once you’ve earned $15. Earn this cash through:

  • Taking surveys
  • Reading emails
  • Shopping online
  • Playing games
  • Completing free trial offers
  • Watching video clips

3. Survey Junkie

A traditional survey site, Survey Junkie, sends you surveys based on your demographic. Each survey you take will earn you points, varying based on how long the survey is.

Cashout points for PayPal cash or your choice of gift card ($5 minimum).

4. Pinecone Research

Through Pinecone Research, you’ll provide feedback on products and services through online surveys. Each survey pays $1, either to a cash payout or gift card.

5. InstaGC

The InstaGC rewards program earns you points for:

  • Completing surveys
  • Downloading apps
  • Referring friends
  • Watching video clips
  • Signing up for free trials
  • Browsing the web using their search feature

Each activity is worth a different number of points, which can be redeemed for Walmart gift cards, PayPal cash, or charitable donations.

How to Get Free Walmart Gift Cards: Sign-up for Rewards

Rewards programs are one of the more passive ways to earn free gift cards. The catch here is that you often need to spend to earn.

Thankfully, you can earn points on your essential purchases regardless of the point system. This way, you’ll earn money on the regular purchases you already plan to buy.

6. Walmart Credit Card

Upon signing up for a Walmart Rewards Card, you start earning points for future Walmart purchases.

You’ll also receive 5% cashback on online purchases, 2% cashback on in-store purchases, 2% cashback on restaurants and travel, and 1% cashback on all other purchases.

There may be additional promotions when you sign up for a new card.

7. Microsoft Rewards

Microsoft’s reward program encourages users to browse the web and use their services.

They offer points for playing games, using the Bing search engine, completing quizzes, and making purchases through the Microsoft store.

You can use these reward points toward gift cards, Microsoft products, or donations to your favorite organizations.

8. Sam’s Club Rewards

Sam’s Club is a member’s only warehouse store affiliated with Walmart.

Its rewards program, Sam’s Cash, gives Sam’s Club members 2% cashback on their purchases (up to $500 a year), early shopping hours, and free shipping on online orders.

Though they don’t earn you a Walmart gift card, the points can be cashed out via PayPal or applied to your next Sam’s Club purchase.

How to Get Free Walmart Gift Cards: Shop Online

It pays to shop online!

Many shopping platforms will offer gift cards and cashback, simply by shopping through their browser.

This can be as simple as installing a browser extension that automatically recognizes when a purchase is being made. These purchases translate to points that can be used for gift cards (including Walmart).

9. Mygiftcardsplus

Affiliated with Swagbucks, Mygiftcardsplus gives you points for buying gift cards. They will give you cashback for this purchase, along with points that can be used with Swagbucks.

Then, redeem your points for a new gift card through Swagbucks! This is a great way to “double dip” on rewards.

10. Ibotta

Use the Ibotta app or website to browse qualifying retailers. On each purchase made, you’ll earn points that can be cashed out or redeemed for gift cards like a Walmart e-gift card ($20 minimum).

Ibotta is also a great way to sign up and get free money because they offer a $10 sign-up bonus.

11. TopCashback

Users can browse TopCashback for deals that fit their shopping needs, then click to “activate” these deals.

You’ll earn cashback based on the specific retailer and receive payout through gift cards, PayPal, or bank transfer.

How to Get Free Walmart Gift Cards: Scanning Receipts

This method is similar to an online shopping rewards platform, though it offers even more chances to earn.

These sites will give you points or cashback based on both online and in-store purchases. All you need to do is scan your receipts to start racking up points!

These can be redeemed for egift cards to Walmart, Amazon, Starbucks, and more.

12. Fetch Rewards

Download the Fetch Rewards App and get scanning!

Take photos of each receipt you have; the app will determine which items are eligible for a reward.

You’ll earn points on each eligible, which you can trade for Walmart gift cards.

13. Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog works almost exactly like Fetch Rewards, though it also offers users regular sweepstakes for additional prizes.

You can also complete surveys through this site for more points.

Receipt Hogs offers payment via Amazon gift card, Visa Prepaid Card, or PayPal, which you can use to purchase Walmart gift cards.

14. Shopkick

Shopkick is an innovative reward system because you can earn “kicks” by just walking into some stores.

You’ll earn additional “kicks” by scanning items throughout the store and making purchases.

Once you’ve earned enough “kicks,” they can be traded for gift cards.

These sites allow users to buy, exchange, and sell gift cards. To avoid scams, these gift cards are authenticated before purchase.
